Do miracles happen in our modern world?

YES!

God is not silent!

Miracles happen every day! God is not silent; He is vibrant and active in our lives if and when we want Him to be. We were given a choice to choose God or to choose to live without God. When you accept Him into your every day events, into your every moment, you will see miracles. Your miracles may be subtle, small, silent, or substantial. They may be something that you don’t realize you need.

Genesis 9:16 (NIV)

“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

They will be something that God knows you need!

We think that we know what is best for us and there are times this is true. Too often, regrettably, it is not true creating unwelcome outcomes. We lack the ability to see beyond the present. Our decisions rely on past experiences and what we anticipate the outcome to be. We take chances. We can’t foresee the unknown variable, the monkey wrench, that has the ability to completely change the circumstances turning what was once a long well thought out choice into the completely wrong choice. Trust Him to guide you. God always knows what is best for us. He knows the future. He knows if a “monkey wrench” will transform a good decision into a bad decision.

If only?

If only…. How many times have you thought “If only”? “My decision would have been different if only I could have seen the outcome.” We work with very limited resources unlike God who has boundless resources. For this reason, put all of your trust in God. Consult Him in every decision that you make and know that even though an outcome is not what you hoped for, it is what is best for us at that given time.

Miracles will come!

Once you choose to include God in EVERYTHING, you will realize that miracles do happen and they happen in your life. I look at the events in my life as “Lessons with God”. There have been numerous miracles in my life, not always the ones that I prayed for, but the ones that I needed. Each hardship, anguish, and traumatic incident taught me something that brought me closer to God. Miracles are present throughout our lives. Some of mine are visible and documented in film, some are silent in my heart, and others came in the form of a physical healing or spiritual growth. These are gifts from God. (Many of my miracles are included in “Lessons with God.” ebook by KK Rylee available at www.miraclesaboundebooks.com)

Thank Him, Praise Him, Glorify Him!

Include God in everything through various forms of prayer

Formal Prayers: The Bible, book of Matthew, states that following the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus answered the disciples when asked the best way to pray telling them not to pray ostentatiously with long empty phrases. He stated, “for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray then in this way….” And He gave them the “Lord’s Prayer”, also known as the “Our Father”. This tells us that God does want formal prayer but I don’t think that it is the only form of prayer.

Conversations: The easiest and most consistent form of prayer. Simply, talk to God. It doesn’t have to be a precise way. Speak to Him in a way that you would to your father. Think of Him in everything that you do. Tell Him good morning, thank Him for your job on the way to work, for the means to get to work, for the knowledge to do your work, thank Him for your family, for their safety. Ask Him for help when you need it, for strength and courage to get through a day, and for your little needs as well as the big ones.

Silent Prayer: God knows what you need before you know that you need it. He hears what is in your heart and he knows your desires. Silent prayer is how your heart feels about God. You don’t openly express your thanks or your needs but they are there in your heart.

Offering Prayer: Each and every one of us has a burden to carry as we struggle to meet our responsibilities. The struggle often includes illnesses, pain, financial issues, addictions or loneliness. We should do all that we can to lessen these burdens but for those that we can’t lessen or remove, offer them to God as a small sacrifice, a small prayer. Show Him that you understand that these things are sometimes needed to achieve a higher goal.

Prayer through Song: This is my absolute favorite! I envy (not covet) anyone is capable of breaking out in song to God in praise and thanksgiving. My singing voice is not something that I would subject anyone to. I sing silently but it still counts. I love singing to God.

Prayer of Thanks: Another easy short form of prayer. Throughout your day, look up and say “Thanks”. There are so many things to be thankful for as you muddle through your day. “Thank you”: I woke up; I made it to work on time; Great lunch; I finished a difficult project; my new shoes don’t hurt me; someone brought donuts; etc. Everything comes from God, so give God thanks for everything.

I pray that you include all forms of prayer in you daily life.
