My favorite saint is St. Therese of Lisieux.
Why?
I would like be able to state that I live my life striving to imitate the great Saints that have gone before us, but my fears and weaknesses would never allow me to reach the level of faith and martyrdom of Saints such as the bravery of St. Joan of Arc or the selflessness of St. Clare of Assisi. However, there is one Saint who believed that each and every one of us is capable of reaching the level of sainthood by following “Her Little Way.” She reached Sainthood by doing “little things” for Jesus throughout every moment of her life. Determined to find holiness by living her simple life, she concluded that she would offer all that she was, in spite of her littleness, to Jesus because this was all that she had to offer. St. Therese rejoiced over her weaknesses and her imperfections knowing that they brought her closer to God. As she went about her daily duties each day she offered her work, her prayer, and her sufferings to Jesus. She continuously made small sacrifices throughout the day. These small offerings became a steady stream of her love flowing directly to Jesus. This became “Her Little Way.”
